"Wild at Heart" Exhibition Postponed Until December

Tonight's opening reception for "Wild at Heart", my pastel exhibition featuring the animals of the WNC Nature Center, is CANCELLED.
Western North Carolina is reeling from the catastrophic impact of Helene, and the Asheville Gallery of Art, like most area businesses, is closed. We will reopen when our members all have power and water, and life is somewhat "back to normal". I am very grateful to my friends and colleagues at the gallery for allowing me to postpone my exhibition until December. The exhibit will now run from 12/01/24 through 12/31/24, with the opening reception on Friday, December 6th, from 5:00-7:30 PM.
The WNC Nature Center -- the inspiration for "Wild at Heart" -- has sustained some minor damage, but all animals and staff are safe. Unfortunately, the main bridge to the entrance has been destroyed, so the center is closed indefinitely until reconstruction can be completed.
My heart goes out to all of the people of WNC who have lost so much and are living under very difficult conditions. Your courage, strength, resilience and community spirit are inspiring. While the road to recovery will be long and hard, I am looking forward to brighter days ahead.
